The initial smartphone dataset can include standardized battery endurance, battery-cycle durability, user-replaceable-battery status, repairability, repeated free-fall reliability, IP protection, screen scratch resistance, software-update support and energy-efficiency class.
No single one of those measurements makes a phone “best” for everyone.
Start with the question you actually want to answer
I want the longest runtime per charge
Use the standardized battery-endurance ranking. It compares covered smartphones under the same defined standardized test sequence rather than sorting by battery capacity alone.
I want a battery designed to retain capacity over more cycles
Use the battery-cycle durability data ranking when the current cohort passes its data gate. This is a different metric from runtime per charge; the explanatory battery-cycle Guide remains the main informational destination.
I want a phone that is easier to keep in service
Start with repairability, battery user-replaceability and declared software support.
I care about physical durability
Compare repeated free-fall reliability, screen scratch resistance and IP protection separately. FactRated does not collapse those unlike tests into one durability score.

Why FactRated keeps the measurements separate
A long-lasting battery per charge can still have a lower cycle rating. A highly repairable phone can have ordinary water protection. An IP68 model can be less impressive in repeated free-fall testing. These are not contradictions; they are different measurements.
FactRated's job is to make those measurements easy to compare without hiding the trade-offs behind an unexplained overall score.
Frequently asked questions
Does FactRated test the phones itself?
No. FactRated organizes and normalizes standardized registered source data. The methodology and source attribution are shown separately so users can see where the measurements come from.
Why not compare smartphones by mAh alone?
Battery capacity describes stored charge, not how quickly the complete phone consumes that energy. Standardized endurance is a more direct comparison of runtime under the defined workload.
Why are some models missing a photo or commercial name?
Those fields can be optional in the source catalogue. FactRated can use authorized exact-identity enrichment where available; otherwise it keeps the official model identifier and a neutral visual fallback rather than guessing.
Does FactRated recommend one best smartphone?
Not in the beta. Rankings are metric-specific and the Finder lets you choose your own priorities.
