Most Repairable Tablets by Official Repairability Index
Slate tablets have a dedicated product cohort, but their official repairability result uses the familiar 1.00–5.00 numeric index plus A–E class. Higher numeric values represent stronger repairability results under the defined methodology.
FactRated ranks only current slate tablets on that index and then shows the underlying repair context — battery user-replaceability, software-support duration and validated repair/spare-parts links where present. The page therefore answers a narrower question than “which tablet is best?”: which eligible tablet has the stronger registered repairability result? It does not predict what a local repair shop will charge.

How this ranking works
Models with a valid repairability index are sorted from higher to lower. The index combines disassembly depth, fasteners, tools, the official Spare Parts score, software-update duration and repair information.
FactRated shows battery user-replaceability separately because it is a useful direct filter even though broader serviceability involves more than battery access.
What this metric does not tell you
A high repairability index does not guarantee:
- cheap local labor;
- immediate local stock of a particular spare part;
- strong drop resistance;
- long battery runtime;
- long software support beyond what the source separately declares.
Frequently asked questions
Is class A the best repairability class?
Yes. The numeric index provides finer detail inside the class bands and is the primary ranking value here.
Can a tablet have a replaceable battery but a lower repairability index?
Yes. The index covers multiple repair dimensions, so one favorable attribute does not determine the whole score.
Does repairability include software support?
Yes. Software-update duration is one of the six dimensions used in the repairability methodology.
Does a high index guarantee that any user can perform a repair?
No. The index covers repair-related conditions at a broader level. Individual repairs can still require professional skill or tools depending on the component.
