Most Energy-Efficient Tablets by Official Energy Class
For a slate tablet, energy efficiency and battery runtime answer different questions. Runtime tells you how long a charge lasts in the standardized tablet workload. The A–G energy class instead reflects the category's Energy Efficiency Index and therefore how that registered endurance relates to battery energy under the regulatory calculation.
FactRated groups current slate tablets by their registered class from A through G. It never merges these class bands with smartphone classes: slate tablets use their own endurance workload and their own EEI thresholds.

What this tablet ranking can tell you
Use this page when your question is which current tablets fall into the stronger official efficiency bands. The class is the primary comparison signal.
Supporting columns such as standardized endurance, rated battery capacity, cycle durability and repairability remain visible because two tablets in the same energy class can still differ substantially on ownership characteristics. Those columns do not secretly become a second efficiency formula.
If the normalized source does not expose a reliable canonical numeric EEI, FactRated treats products in the same letter class as tied on the available efficiency evidence. It does not manufacture a finer order from battery hours, mAh or another unrelated metric.
Why the tablet cohort stays separate
Slate tablets are not simply large smartphones in this dataset. Their standardized battery-endurance sequence is different — the tablet cycle lasts 360 minutes and uses a different mix of active tasks and idle periods — and their energy-class thresholds are category-specific.
That means a class A tablet and a class A smartphone each occupy the strongest band inside their own regulatory category, but the letters should not be treated as one cross-device numeric league table.
For slate tablets, the official EEI class bands are:

How to use energy class with other tablet data
A practical comparison can keep the questions separate:
- Energy class: how strong is the tablet's official efficiency band?
- Battery endurance: how long did the registered tablet run under the standardized tablet workload?
- Battery cycles: what minimum long-term cycling band is declared?
- Repairability: how does the tablet score under the official repairability methodology?

Is class A the highest tablet energy-efficiency class?
Yes. A is the strongest efficiency class and G the weakest under the slate-tablet thresholds.
Does the class-A tablet necessarily have the longest battery runtime?
No. Energy efficiency and absolute standardized endurance are related but different measurements. Use the battery-endurance ranking for runtime per charge.
Can I compare a tablet's class directly with a smartphone's class?
Not as one numeric ranking. The A–G labels are familiar across the two categories, but the underlying thresholds and endurance test sequences differ.
Why can several tablets appear tied inside one class?
Because FactRated only creates a finer efficiency order when a canonical numeric efficiency value supports it. A letter class alone is a band, not a hidden decimal score.
Does a bigger tablet battery guarantee a better energy class?
No. Battery capacity alone does not determine the category's energy-efficiency result.
