IP68 Smartphones Compared by Standardized Data
If IP68 is a requirement, a useful comparison should go beyond a simple list of phones carrying the same protection code. FactRated filters current smartphones to models whose documented canonical ingress-protection fields derive to IP68, then lets you compare the objective measurements that still differ between them.
The default view sorts eligible IP68 phones by standardized battery endurance, because runtime is a practical differentiator and one of the strongest observed search/comparison interests. You can also compare repairability, battery-cycle durability, drop resistance, software support and other standardized fields without turning them into one opaque score.

How this comparison works
FactRated derives the consumer IP code from the documented canonical solid- and water-ingress fields. It does not rely on a similarly named duplicate convenience string. Only models that derive cleanly to IP68 enter this table.
IP68 is the filter, not a hidden ranking score. The visible sort can change, and the page must always label the active sort. The initial/default sort is standardized battery endurance in minutes, rendered as hours/minutes. Missing values stay missing.
What IP68 does — and does not — tell you
The first digit describes protection against solid-particle ingress. The second digit describes water ingress under defined conditions. For IP68, the detailed immersion conditions can vary by model, so FactRated shows the registered immersion-depth information when available rather than assuming every IP68 phone carries an identical real-world water promise.
IP68 does not tell you:
- how well a phone survives repeated drops;
- how scratch-resistant its screen is;
- how repairable it is;
- how long the battery lasts per charge;
- how many battery cycles it is rated for;
- whether water damage will be covered by a particular warranty.
Those are separate measurements or policies and should stay separate.
Why this page is not called “the best waterproof phones”
“Waterproof” is too broad, and a single overall winner would hide important trade-offs. FactRated uses the registered IP classification as an eligibility filter and then exposes the other comparable facts directly.
Frequently asked questions
Does IP68 mean every phone can be submerged to exactly the same depth?
No. Check the model-specific immersion information and manufacturer instructions where available. The IP code alone does not make every model's detailed condition identical.
Is IP68 the same as drop resistance?
No. Repeated free-fall reliability is a separate standardized durability measurement.
Why is battery endurance the default sort?
Because once the IP68 requirement is fixed, standardized runtime is a useful independent differentiator and matches strong consumer comparison intent. You can change the sort without changing the page's IP68 eligibility definition.
Does FactRated perform its own waterproofing tests?
No. FactRated normalizes and presents standardized registered product data; it does not claim to have performed proprietary waterproofing tests.
